Are you a Graphic Designer? we need your opinion now.

January 31st, 2010 . Escrito en Graphics Design por Luis Ahmed

Hi everyone.
I think that this will be the most popular and important post in the history of this Blog. What we want to get here is a nice and pure feedback about our design solutions.

Bellow we are presenting three logo designs for Agendy.com a new web project from Chile. They contact Cbgráfica Design Studio to make the web redesign and a new corporate identity.

Shortly, I will say that Agendy is basically a web service for online appointment scheduling and an online calendar tool with a lot more functionalities and usability. Any small business can use Agendy to make it time management a lot more efficient and fast, the service allow you to schedule a project with a client, send appointment alert via SMS and choose the best time for the meetings etc.

Taking the above ideas as a main concept we propose the following design solutions, basically we are using time and planning tools as visual hooks to make the logo an easy identification object for Agendy.

About colors, we try to establish a smooth visual relationship with clients. By using cobalt blue, red and green we try to get that atmosphere of cordiality, truth and comfort.
So that’s it, we need your opinion.

  1. Great job! I am leaning towards solution 1 - it seems to flow a lot smoother than the others - it has a presence, and it is memorable. The colors you chose are very simple & effective.

    Saludos

  3. Frau Meike says:

I’d prefer solution 3 because 1 is too fancy for my taste and 2 reminds me of the Google logo. Solution 3 is clear, straight, and nice to look at.

  4. Hola Ahmed

    Hi Ahmed:
I prefer the first one. And I don’t know why it looks like a cat for me, that’s cute.
The second one is the one who makes a better approach to the “Agenda” concept, but the book has tabs on left instead of what everyone expected (right).
The third one is too minimalistic for me.

  6. I prefer either 1 or 3. 2 doesn’t work because of the tabs on the left, as Odelot pointed out. Between 1 and 3, 1 seems much more young, fun, etc. while 3 seems more corporate/stodgy professional. I think which one depends on the style/feel of the organization. Hope that helps. Great work!

  7. Personally, I prefer the first design, but minus the shadow/highlights. All three are cool designs but the first really pushes the brand out there!

  8. Jon Rawlins says:

I am torn between concept 1 and 3, although with a decision needed I would like to see concept 1 implemented. In my opinion, it’s very clean and gives off a much more professional finish.

  9. Mels Brushes says:

1 looks playful and approachable and would be my 1st choice. However 2 is also good but looks more literary and ‘important’. 3 doesn’t hit the mark - too corporate and sinister.

I would like to see the book image from 2 with the font of 1!

  10. dixie says:

I prefer solution 1 most of all, but am a little concerned it might compete / clash with Google,,, I really like solution 2 but the tabs on the little appt book around the A needs to be a tad bigger,, you don’t see them at first glance.

  11. dixie says:

On second look,,, maybe put the tabs on the other side of A,,, so they are kindof leading the eye to A gendy,,, the way the eye travels

  12. Estel says:

Hello, Congrats on the solutions, I think all are good concepts nicely executed.
Option 1 is my favorite, simple and with personality. The only thing that bothers me a little is that de G is in front of the A but a bit separated from the E.

Option 2 has too many details, that might lose while scaling it; and 3 seems either like a kitten or a Mr. Mustache:P

Thanks for letting us give you feedback.

  13. Bill Miles says:

Solution 1: Works. It is obvious and communicates fast. May be over-designed.

Solution 2: A Gendy is how it reads to me. I think it takes too long to “get it”.

Solution 3: I love this one. Contemporary, simple and balanced. The clock/time element, I think, could use some refining. Maybe moving the hands closer to the center point, still keeping the balance. I think it would communicate even faster.

Colors: I like the blue. Green works as “go”, but blue is more peaceful, soothing. Red screams at me too much.

  14. Sajan Mani says:

    my fav s no.1.

it has the identity of the brand (appointment scheduling and an online calendar tool …)

the logo s simple and we can use it any form
eg:easly can animate the needle part tic..tic…(LoL)

and n the bg of blue the red coloured logo will give alarming feel! (scheduling)

    Thanks and regards

  15. Van says:

The first one! That in some sort of 3 color, or grey scale execution would be great. It will also look good very small or very large. Nice!

  16. thomas maier says:

    please please reduce the blue.

  17. brano says:

Solution 1. / Less serif, or bit more roundy, forget about the shades inside the “g”. and you have simple friendly solution. ciao HAPPY DESIGNING (do not take your self to serious, is just another logo) not a break through.

  18. Yeah, Solution 1 is the best… by far… :) I like it the way it is…and in the red I think is nice, cause is like an alert, that something important is going on… Good luck!

  19. Jasmin Gala says:

    Hi,

Well, I really liked the solution 1 , yes it suits a lot as per requirement. It gives alert kind of effect cz of ‘G’ . But I also liked fonts of Solution 3 which has some class in it. …Gud luck! :-)

  20. Luis Guillen says:

    Saludos

  24. Ginny says:

I like the first design alot based on personality and originality. The TM is distracting though and makes the bells look too busy. I would move the tm down below the letter.
Also, I don’t like it in white. The g stands alone all by itself and the rest is tossed away. You might want to balance the color out and not use white. It works with the black though in my opinion.
The other thing is that the tail of the g is getting too much emphasis. It should be thinned and reduced in size. Its the clock that is telling the story. I hope this helps rather than confuse.

  25. John says:

I like 1 and 3 leaning more towards #3. I think I would LOVE 3 if the clock hands were pointing towards the name… rotate the whole icon and see how that looks… That would put the flow fight from the icon to the name. #1 is good but I think the Google comment earlier is true. It will show its age quickly.

    BUENO

  26. Nancy says:

I really like the “g” the way it is in the first one but I think a different font might work better for the rest of the letters. They seem too heavy to me. The second one is okay but less fun. I don’t like the tabs much. The third one has a nice, clean look but, initially, to me it’s not obvious that the graphic is a clock. Maybe it’s just me, but my first impression before I knew what the product was (I read your explanation above after I viewed the logos) was that it was a steering wheel or something. Maybe if it had some lines for the hours?

  27. LukeSF says:

First one will work the best, though I think it doesnt work well in B&W. Maybe you could try a let the “g” stand out from A somehow and use a solid fill without a 3D effect for black on white, IMHO

  28. Gregorio says:

Me quedo con la propuesta 3.
